Welcome to Rovinj
Rovinj is widely considered the most romantic town on the Adriatic: a former island crowned by the slender bell tower of St. Euphemia, its pastel houses rising straight from the sea and its cobbled lanes tangled like fishing nets. Centuries of Venetian rule left an unmistakably Italian flavour that survives in the town's bilingual street signs and easy-going charm.
Around the old town, Rovinj offers the fragrant pine forests of the Golden Cape park, a scattering of green islands just offshore, and some of Croatia's most celebrated restaurants — Istria is the country's gastronomic heartland, famous for truffles, olive oil, and Malvazija wine.
Getting there is the easy part: our private door-to-door transfer from Zagreb to Rovinj (≈ 250 km, ≈ 2 h 45 min) picks you up at your address and delivers you directly to your accommodation — and we drive to Rovinj from any address in Croatia or the EU.
Highlights
What to See in Rovinj
Church of St. Euphemia
The baroque church at the very top of the old town, its 60-metre Venetian campanile visible for miles. Climb the wooden staircase for an unforgettable view over the rooftops and islands.
Old Town Lanes
Grisia street and the alleys around it climb from the harbour to the church past artists' studios, galleries and stone doorways worn smooth by centuries.
Golden Cape (Zlatni Rt)
A magnificent park forest south of town with century-old plantations, sculpted coves and pebble beaches, perfect for walking, cycling and swimming.
Rovinj Archipelago
Boat taxis hop to St. Catherine and Red Island just off the harbour, each ringed with swimming spots and shaded paths.
Batana Boats
Rovinj's traditional flat-bottomed fishing boats have their own UNESCO-recognised eco-museum and still bob photogenically in the little harbour.
Lim Fjord
A dramatic green sea inlet a short drive north, famous for oyster and mussel farms where you can taste shellfish metres from the water they grew in.
