Welcome to Trogir
Trogir is a small miracle of stone: an entire medieval town laid out on a tiny island, joined by bridges to the mainland on one side and the island of Čiovo on the other. Founded by Greek colonists 2,300 years ago and shaped by Romans, Croats and Venetians, its dense weave of palaces, churches and courtyards earned the whole town a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Just 25 kilometres from Split and minutes from Split Airport, Trogir combines big history with an intimate, unhurried atmosphere. Its wide seafront promenade, lined with palms and café terraces facing the yachts, is among the most beautiful in Dalmatia — and the perfect place to end a day of exploring.
Getting there is the easy part: our private door-to-door transfer from Zagreb to Trogir (≈ 380 km, ≈ 3 h 45 min) picks you up at your address and delivers you directly to your accommodation — and we drive to Trogir from any address in Croatia or the EU.
Highlights
What to See in Trogir
Cathedral of St. Lawrence
Home to master Radovan's 13th-century portal, the finest work of Romanesque sculpture in Croatia. Climb the bell tower for views over the rooftops to Čiovo and the sea.
Kamerlengo Fortress
The Venetian fortress guarding the western tip of the island; its walls host summer concerts and open onto wide Adriatic views.
Old Town Maze
Trogir's grid of narrow lanes hides Renaissance courtyards, stone lions and tiny chapels — small enough never to get truly lost, rich enough to reward every wrong turn.
The Riva
The palm-lined waterfront promenade where the whole town gathers for the evening stroll, facing the superyachts and the lights of Čiovo.
Čipiko Palace
The finest of Trogir's noble palaces, its Gothic windows carved by the same masters who worked on the cathedral, right on the main square.
Čiovo Island Beaches
Cross the small bridge to Čiovo for a string of pebbly coves and clear-water beaches within minutes of the old town.
